AHH the Holidays!

Here's a pre-holiday weekend in the life of Ideal I Do's: Last Saturday: I had three weddings.  One was a morning wedding in a hotel between 2 80 year olds.   Then I had a couple getting married on the beach (cue the driving, pouring cold rain) so we moved it inside to the Briny Pub, a cozy, quirky place that has been on the beach for 30 years or more.  Then I had a committment ceremony between 2 women under a chuppah.

Honestly, if I did that every single weekend until I died, I would die very,  very happy.

All the Best!

Happy Xmas, New Year, Kwanza etc.

Art Basel Weekend - Or A Soap Box Moment

This weekend I had the privilege of attending Art Basel in Miami Beach, one of the biggest art events in the world.  I feel lucky to live in a place where art is cherished and promoted.  Art is essential to life.  Expression, talent, perseverance, creativity - aren't these the basics of humanity? Looking at things differently: creatively, spiritually, helps us all to grow as human beings.   It makes me so upset when I hear that arts budgets are cut in everything from schools to cities.  Art is a necessity, not a extravagance!  Support the Arts!

I Do!

What affirming and happy words these are! A wedding just isn't a wedding without "I Do!" What are some other things that "make" a wedding ceremony?  A white dress, rings, and a caring and compassionate person that performs the "rite" of marriage vows.  Ideal I Do's is the premier wedding ceremony service in South Florida.  Go to our site: http://www.idealidos.com/ to find out why!

Marriage Equality

For those who don't know me, or Ideal I Do's so well, I want to let you know something very important about me - I am passionately dedicated to the cause of marriage equality.  To me, it is one of the last civil rights there is in this country.  The creation of a family is a priviledge and an honor, and it is also a right as a human being.  GLBT acceptance and tolerance is paramount to creating a society that is progressive, not regressive.  Let's get this millenium right, EQUAL RIGHTS IN MARRIAGE!

Welcome to Ideal I Do's Ceremony Blog - South Florida Wedding and Committment Ceremonies

Are you planning your wedding or committment and wondering what to do about your ceremony?  Here are some useful guidelines when picking your ceremony officant:

1.  Meet the officiant IN PERSON.  You can learn so much more about what kind of ceremony they will perform for you through a personal face to face conversation.  You don't want to meet your officiant for the first time on your wedding day. Make sure that you connect with your officiant on a personal basis.  Don't be afraid to communicate clearly what you want and ask them directly if this is what they offer.  This must be a good match.

2. Discuss with your officiant your specific wants, needs and goals, for example, a poem or reading, or personally written vows.

3.  Decide if you want a formal or informal ceremony, and if your officiant is a good match for this.

4. Keep an open mind.  We have all seen male wedding officiants on television growing up.  Females also officiate wedding ceremonies and are also able to communicate your sensitive needs on your special day.

The most important thing to remember is your comfort zone is the most important.  Take your time and choose your officiant with as much care and thought as your wedding gown.  It has to be a good fit, suit your style and look good in the pictures!

All the best!  Be sure to call or email if you would like more information about Ideal I Do's - The Celebration starts at the Ceremony!
